“I wish I had a rich dad…” Burna Boy compares himself to Davido

So, Burna boy a few days ago took to twitter to pour out his heart; there he tweeted ‘I wish I had a rich dad or relative that got shit done 4 me. God knows best sha‘.

Though we can’t tell for sure who Burna Boy was referring to, many have assumed he was taking a direct shot at fellow artist and billionaire kid Davido – so “the omo baba olowo” fans immediately took to twitter to attack Burna Boy for the tweet.

‘Haahahhahahaha,DAVIDO(omo baba olowo) see ur life! Bt wait o,Burna dey feel bad,sowie boo,wen uar cumin nxt in life choose a rich dad like DAVIDO.lol‘, a comment read.

Another comment read, “Burna boy please kindly STFU…… You don’t have a rich dad/relative yet you went to Corona then London before you chose the music path..keep comparing yourself with Davido instead of being thankful..”

It’s no secret that Davido who is often referred to as ‘Omo baba olowo‘ has always gotten full support from his billionaire dad Deji Adeleke!

Olamide, Iyanya win big at Nigeria entertainment awards in New York (photos)

The 8th Edition of Nigeria Entertainment Awards which is about showcasing Nigeria’s upcoming and established artists to the African community in the US held last night in New York.

Iyanya won Hottest Single Of The Year – Kukere – while Olamide and Phyno  also won awards too!

Girl swallows her phone to keep her boyfriend from reading her texts (video/photo)

A Spanish website Yipeta.com is reporting that a 19-year-old woman from Brazil – Adriana Andrade – in a bid to keep her boyfriend Renato from reading the text messages on her cellphone, did the most incredible by swallowing her phone.

She had to undergo an operation to get the cellphone removed.

RubbinMinds interview: Beverly Osu confirms 2shotz abused her while they were dating

Beverly Osu was the celebrity guest on youths program Rubbing Minds this afternoon on Channels TV.

You will recall that while Beverly was in the Big brother Africa house, she disclosed that she once dated a certain rapper  – 2shotz – who she claimed was a woman-beater!

Rapper 2shotz responded to Beverly’s allegation by debunking all her claims.

Well, during the rubbing minds interview today,  Beverly insisted that 2shotz was the rapper she referred to as her ex who abused her while they were dating.

When Ebuka asked her if she was surprised when she learnt 2shotz denied her allegations, Beverly  said she wasn’t surprised cos that’s a natural thing to do. She added that she stands by all she said about their relationship,  because they were true.

Stephaine Okereke, others to be arrested over Akpabio’s N50m largesse to nollywood

The Nigerian movie industry otherwise known as Nollywood is poised for a showdown as the Association of Nollywood Core Producers, ANCOP, has petitioned EFCC and SFU over the N50 million largesse donated by Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State to support the industry.

The association is alleging massive fraud in the disbursement of the fund. It has petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) to investigate the matter.

According to a copy of the petition made available to HVP, signed by the association’s President, Comrade Alex Eyengho, the group is asking the agencies to invite the National President of the Association of Movie Producers, AMP, Zik Zulu Okafor, the National President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria, DGN, Andy Amenechi; the Secretary General of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Yakubu Abubakar and actress Stephanie Okereke- Linus Idahosa for obtaining the fund and disbursing it without the consent of the industry’s stakeholders.

Part of the petition dated August 19, 2013 and addressed jointly to the EFCC and SFU, read thus:

“On June 15, 2013, news broke out that some Nollywood stakeholders under the auspices of a non-existent ‘Guild of Nollywood Stars’ visited Governor Akpabio in his office in Uyo for the purpose of collecting the N50 million pledge to Nollywood.

“The Governor presented to the visitors a prototype post-dated (25-06- 2013) Zenith bank cheque number 00063639 with Akwa Ibom State Government as the account name, issued in favour of Guild of Nollywood Stars. “We also gathered that the Governor, in his usual generosity, gave each of the visitors N500, 000 cash. “Expectedly, the massive publicity given to the entire episode by the press generated heated debates. In fact, it polarised the industry till today.

“Suspecting fraud, ANCOP immediately raised the red flag when it queried the use of a non-existent ‘Guild of Nollywood Stars’ to access the N50 million pledge, by those who visited Governor Akpabio.

“We are demanding that you immediately commence a full-blown investigation into the alleged fraudent act over the N50 million Governor Akpabio gave to Nollywood to carry out a specific task but now domiciled in the account of one of the the over 30 associations and guilds in Nollywood…Sir, anything short of this is an invitation to anarchy in Nollywood.”

“Give to the less privileged instead …” Fan blasts Tonto Dikeh for showing off all her gadgets

In celebrating the beginning of a new month – September 1st – Tonto Dikeh decided to show off all her gadgets (her  7 phones and customized Ipad) on twitter and instagram today.
Of course the display got tongues wagging, as a matter of fact, a particular fan blasted her on instagram, asking her to give to the less privileged, rather than wasting money on the gadgets.

Kenny St Brown miraculously survives accident, as truck without brake runs into her vehicle

Kennis music artist, Kenny Saint Brown now Saint Best, is full of thanks and praises to God for miraculously delivering her and her driver from a road mishap a few days ago.

Nigeria films reports that the gospel singer posted a message on her Blackberry messenger status immediately after the accident

“Just had an accident at Ojota. A truck without brake ran into us. I’m alive n my driver too.” the BBM status reads.

She also tweeted this:

KSB, formerly married to defunct Remedies member, Eddy Ashiedu Brown, changed her last name to Best when the relationship between them went sour.
