Nigeria Labor Congress Set To Ramp Up Action As Strike Remains Feeble

The Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC) today barred all traders and artisans using the union’s building in Yaba from selling or displaying their wares as Nigeria entered into the second day of protests against President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to sharply increase the price of fuel. A union member who identified himself simply as Lanre described the action as a case of charity beginning at home. “It is not right for the traders and artisans to open today or any day until the strike is suspended. If they open, it shows that we cannot even control our house.”

 

But some of the irate traders said they were more concerned about the disruption of their means of livelihood, adding that they did not ask labor leaders to fight for them. A female trader, who said she was not interested in participating in the strike, expressed her nonchalance. “If they like they should strike till next year, I don’t care. The labor congress should not fight or stop me from opening my shop. Some of them voted for Buhari; they should not complain,” she said.

Nigerian Troops Rescue A Second Chibok Schoolgirl

The Nigerian Army has rescued another young woman who was part of more than 200 schoolgirls abducted on April 14, 2014, from Chibok in Borno State.

A statement released by a military spokesman Col.  SK Usman disclosed that the girl’s rescue came today as various units of the Nigerian Army conducted clearance operations at Shettima Aboh, Hong and Biladdili areas in Damboa local government area of Borno State.

2face finally reacts to Black Face's allegations of song theft against him

In a chat with Channels TV’s Entertainment News, 2face reacted to the allegations of song theft by his former band mate - Blackface. He said,  
'My brother it’s just so unfortunate. I don't know where it is coming from. I'm trying to think of different reasons. I thought maybe his account was hacked or something. Apparently it wasn’t hacked, so we'll trash the whole matter.. but I've got nothing but love and respect for him and it's just so unfortunate that he's coming at me like that.'
When asked if he still considers him (Blackface) a friend, 2face said 'Apparently he doesn’t consider me his friend anymore but I wish him no ill-will. Let’s leave it like that for now.'
